Because this has become more mundane than I intended.

I have moved. I have moved.

Mutually Assured Destruction.

I have ventured.

Into writing.

I’ll load it up when I’m done, got about 7 out of about 15 (?) chapters. Tis about an old man. That is all.

It’s a short story, and I write every part on my iPod commuting to and fro, so yeah. It’s not some awesome novel or shit but yeah. It’s fun.

New year’s resolutions? 2. Me. And everybody else.

The end credits.

On the 29th.

Well, it does have “Christ” in it.

•December 24, 2009 • Leave a Comment

Is Christmas still “Christ”mas? Nope, doesn’t look like it.

Busy.

Very busy.

So many parties to go to too.

Had dinner with Steph, Jerome, Joel, the whole crew, missing Cat and Christine. Jerome’s birthday too. Finally huh.

An awesome afternoon was had, shopping for presents with Steph, and goofing around in the baby stores, then finding out we had to wrap presents in 5ish minutes.

Swensens, Bradley, chemistry, science, O levels, bars, Clarissa, ice cream, earthquakes, cherries, screaming in the restaurant, candy canes, Stephanie, half-cherries, wrath, russian places, Mark, bus, plans for Ice Cream Chefs with Bradley and Clarissa, home.

I’m still busy, and almost totally broke. Nyeh, spent a few hundred, set back a few hundred for my guitar. How’m I gonna afford awesome stuff for Steph and Mark. Bought Jill a set of earrings (/easy). Got Cat a pretty Paua shell necklace. Gotta miss her a little.

It’s Christmas eve, I don’t feel the celebratory mood.

Not seeing the band this week ):

I swear we’re so close but I guess she’s just,

the girl a thousand leagues at sea.

Get me this for Christmas?Esp Eclipse I CTM FR Epic shit in a week. Epic shit. Epic awesome. And some shit.

There was that little pyramid-climbing on monday, resulting in confiscation of matric cards. But it was stupid fun.

There were cruddy tests which I should be able to do well in.

There was the rocking out to rock band even though study was needed.

Didn’t quite have the mood to run my daily 4km. Think it’s the tests. I swear, by next year…

Had an awesome friday. AWESOME. Good company, good fun. But I let down bandmates. Damn. I think the drummer was pissed.

Kinda feel a little, teeny bit guilty not showing up for practice.

Bought tickets to Gan’s gig at the Blackhole next week. Cool shtuff yo.

Now I think about it, “serious” doesn’t seem to fit at all. How bout, “sensible”. No that sounds too boring. It would be a good start though. Smart. Who wouldn’t want that. Depth of character. Does not like airheads.

The Conspiracy Of Seeds by 65daysofstatic just refuses to play on my iTunes. I can’t take it.

Yeargh hounded by projects now. Gah. So very many.

BUT FUCK THAT! THE HOLIDAYS ARE HERE!

HAVE A CHRISTMASCOOKIE.

Hay in a needlestack.

Shall be the theme of a song I’ma write.

Hah, mid-sem tests are here, hope the weekly snippets of study help.

But what’s really really really distracting, is. That I’ve got Rock Band!

Hell yeah it’s awesome.

Fuckin cool shit.

I’m supposed to be studying, but fuck that? I’m soloing on expert to Coheed and Cambria’s Welcome Home, right there beside Claudio Sanchez and his I-just-got-kicked-in-the-balls high voice.

Had a party on Saturday. Low-s and Gan-s and the Chai-s came over, really fun. Tim and Laura didn’t come though. Woulda been fun-er. Still, Rachel and Jon were awesome. Claire was so cute-ly shy haha. Good food fun. Looks like the daily 4km has been working haha, so many “How come you’ve lost so much weight” and whatnot.

Just as she came back from India she’s gone to Cambodia. =\ tough luck.

Aydan’s going to flight school during the holidays. Shit. Well, I’m happy for him, but that means no bassist. Damn. And jamming’ll be at my place. We’re gonna rockify our school song. It’s already tabbed out and re-arranged. Thanks to Mark the awesome musician.

Booya!

-Boredom

The solo in Welcome Home is fucking epic by the way. That song’s a total rock epic. 6 minutes 15 seconds of awesome guitar riffs, sweet ass drum beats and (kinda) awesome vocals (It’s sorta an acquired taste) The guitars are fucking sweet, shit I can’t stop about their awesomeness. About a minute long solo at 154 bpm. And a sweet acoustic intro. Gah! Awesomesauce! +that awesome chanted part after the solo. Played it on Saturday night with Nat on vocals, Jill on guitar and me on drums. I swear it was epic. Everyone was singing because it’s so, melodic-y-ish.

They must be eradicated.

Is that gonna be what life’ll be like in 10 years?

I know, I know, “carpe diem!” and all that jazz right. But there’s so much to do.

Nothing really exciting going on right now. Lotsa projects (easy-ish though), “Band camp” at Aydan’s next week. Even though mid-sem test are the following week. Radical.

Listening to lots of Alexisonfire. Think they’ve slipped past Lamb Of God and have now become my favourite.

December’s coming. Whoop-de-doo.

Best thing’d probably be seeing Steph and crew again come December 16th. And the 29th.

Inknoink?Inknoink?Inknoink?Inknoink?Inknoink?Inknoink?Inknoink?Inknoink?Inknoink?Inknoink?Inknoink?

Old man sits at his desk
One year for retiring
And he’s up for review
Not quite sure what to do, each passing year
The workload grows

I’m always wishing, I’m always wishing too late
For things to come my way
It always ends up the same
Count your blessings
I must be missing, I must be missing the point
Your signal fades away and all I’m left with is noise
Count your blessings on one hand

So wait up I’m not sleeping alone again tonight
There’s so much to dream about, there must be more to my life

Poor little tin man, still swinging his axe
Even though his joints are clogged with rust

My youth is slipping, my youth is slipping away
Safe in monotony, so safe, day after day
Count your blessings
My youth is slipping, my youth is slipping away
cold wind blows off the lake and I know for sure that its too late
Count your blessings on one hand

So wait up I’m not sleeping alone again tonight
There’s so much to dream about, there must be more to my life

Can’t help but feel betrayed, punch the clock every single day
There’s no loyalty and no remorse
You spoke for present check
That makes me fucking sick
He’s sick of, he can’t say no

Whoa-oh-oh-oh-oh

So wait up I’m not sleeping alone again tonight
There’s so much to dream about, there must be more to my life
So wait up
So wait up I’m not sleeping alone again tonight
Between the light and shallow waves is where I’m going to die
Wait up for me
Wait up for me
Wait up for me

Life’s too short to be angry.

And it came to me then that every plan,
Is a tiny prayer to father time,
As I stared at my shoes in the ICU,
That reeked of piss and 409.
And I rationed my breaths as I said to myself,
That I’d already taken too much today.
As each descending peak on the LCD,
Took you a little farther away from me.
Away from me.

Amongst the vending machines,
And year old magazines,
In a place where we only say goodbye.
It stung like a violent wind,
That our memories depend,
On a faulty camera in our minds.
And I knew that you were a truth,
I would rather lose,
Than to have never lain beside at all.

Then I looked around at all the eyes on the ground,
As the TV entertained itself.
‘Cause there’s no comfort in the waiting room,
Just nervous paces bracing for bad news.
Then the nurse comes round,
And everyone lifts their heads.
And I’m thinking of what Sarah said,
That love is watching someone die.

So who’s going to watch you die?
So who’s going to watch you die?
So who’s going to watch you die?

Sad song. Even sadder when it’s a future in a friend’s life.

Just shows how impermenent life is.

+ New outlook.

Save your scissors. Save your wasted time.

Another sweet acoustic number by City And Colour.

Jamming’s due on Saturday. Booya.

Peninsula Today. An Esp Eclipse’s $1950. Hell yeah, I figured after conversion, it’d be around $2400.  Closer by 400 bucks then. New strings. Dinner at that Japanese place in Raffles City. Good chat too.

O levels are over. Hell yeah. More cause for celebration.

And I’ve found the best place to waste time online. Ultimate-guitar forum’s You Laugh, You Lose thread. V7 is Epic, Fabled, no, Legendary win.

“I’m sorry, do I know you?”

excerpt – “I turn on my ‘Charmander’ pants fall off.”

You’ve gotta say that out loud to get it. Best pokemon pun I’ve heard in awhile.

Learnt that song by the way. Really easy because it’s like, the same 3-4 chords over and over again. Playing A Static Lullaby’s cover of Toxic on Saturday.

Donating Blood.

Ice Cream Date. How original.

For half a year I’ve been one-eyed. Now I see with both.

It’s called playing the stoic.
